The Artist

Name/Nickname: Dario Borroni

Place of Birth: Italy

Genere of Art: Photography

Short Bio: Hi everyone! I’m Dario, I’m 31 years old and I live in Milan, where I work as a materials engineer. I remember loving photography since I was a teen, but I started to get more passionated about it when I bought my first mirrorless camera in 2018 and took it with me on an unforgettable 2 weeks trip to Indonesia. You can take a look at some shots I took over the years on my ig account @darioborroni. I have never had a methodic approach to photography or any particular long term goal: most of the times I’ll capture anything that captures my attention, following my mood and getting inspired by what’s around: it could be something funny, weird, nostalgic, or just aesthetically pleasing to me.

Featured Art: Terrestrials

I usually like to catch the details that make any place or situation unique, even if it is not beautiful in a canonic way, and even if it’s just some road I have been walking through every day: there is always something I have never observed before. As the years passed I started noticing and resonating to a few recurrent themes in my gallery. For example, in many of my street shots the human presence is never fully represented and described: I tend to capture people at a distance, in the shadow, from their back, sometimes out of focus, often surrounded by big portions of sky or landscape; this creates a sort of bittersweet feeling to me, as if in the end we are just little drops in the ocean, all living similar lives in this planet (am I overthinking?)

Anyway, I decided to group some of my favourite pictures following this theme in a series which I called „terrestrials“.

The complete series can be found here: Part 1, Part 2
